Applications Being Accepted for Subdivision and Development Appeal Board

Invites applications from persons interested in:

Serving on the County’s Subdivision and Development Appeal Board

An opening exists on this Board which is comprised of 5 Members at Large, each a resident within Lethbridge County. The Subdivision & Development Appeal Board is a quasi-judicial body that hears a wide range of appeals lodged against decisions of the County’s Subdivision and Development Approval Authority.

The SDAB process consists of reviewing the agenda information package; a physical site tour, a formal hearing and board deliberations to derive facts and render a decision. The appointment is for an initial term of 3 years, commencing March 1, 2018 or soon thereafter.

Applicants can pick up an application form and outline their experience on previous positions on boards and other organizations along with a willingness to serve their community. Other factors include:

- Flexible schedule to attend hearings as they arise.
- Ability to review appeals on a case-by-case basis with fairness, objectivity and impartiality.
-  Following board protocol and established procedure at Appeal Hearings.
- Some familiarity with Lethbridge County Land Use By-Law.
