Drivers Asked to Use Caution While Travelling This Weekend

Post Date:02/16/2018 3:08 PM

LETHBRIDGE COUNTY- Due to recent snowfall and high winds, road conditions in Southern Alberta have deteriorated. Drifting snow onto some County roads is making travel difficult, with more snow anticipated this weekend. Visibility may be reduced during periods of heavy snowfall. County crews are working hard to ensure roads are safe and passable for drivers.

Travel should be avoided if possible. If you must drive, please drive with caution; slow down, and keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you. If you are behind a snow plow, please be sure to leave extra space and never attempt to pass a plow. It is also advised that you regularly check weather forecasts for sudden changes.

In an emergency, call 911. For public works emergencies, please call (403) 328-5525 and follow the voice prompts. Please do not message the County for public works emergencies on social media as these accounts are not monitored 24/7.

Alberta road conditions are posted to the Alberta 511 website
