Bursary Program

Recipients for the 2024 Bursary program have been selected!

We would love to congratulate Rayann Campmans, Danika Hodge and Vanessa Moorhead, our three $1500 bursary winners. These ambitious ladies are now all off to pursue their post-secondary journeys throughout the province.

"I’m beyond honoured to receive this bursary. Lethbridge County is my home, and being recognized in this way for my contributions means a great deal to me. I appreciate the support and am committed to making the most out of the post-secondary opportunities this scholarship makes possible for me."

"I am extremely grateful and excited to be receiving this bursary. This will help to pay for the post-secondary education I need to achieve my career goals in vet sciences. I hope to then use my schooling in the future to benefit the Lethbridge County community. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible!"

Danika Hodge (Veterinary Medicine Program University of Lethbridge/University of Calgary)
"I am very honoured to receive the Lethbridge County Bursary Award, as I have lived in Lethbridge County my whole life. This bursary will help me in my post-secondary education while I work towards my future goals. Thank you to everyone involved for making this opportunity available."

Vanessa Moorhead (Veterinary Technician Program, Lakeland College)

“Council sincerely congratulates the recipients of this year’s awards,” says Reeve Tory Campbell. “We are proud to have exceptional young people in Lethbridge County, and this year’s applicants are shining examples of educational achievement and community spirit. The future is bright for Rayann, Danika and Vanessa and we wish them all the best as they embark on the next step in their education.”

Criteria for the awards included being a County resident, having a record of outstanding academic achievement and a high degree of involvement in volunteerism or community organizations. Applicants were required to submit an essay outlining their high school careers as well as their plans for the future.

“As in past years, we were so impressed by the quality of applications this year,” says Deputy Reeve John Kuerbis, member of the Bursary Selection Committee. “Lethbridge County is incredibly fortunate to have many ambitious, motivated and community-minded young adults. It was a difficult decision given the exceptional students who applied for this program.”
