Changes to Safety Codes permitting in Lethbridge County:
Lethbridge County is changing safety codes service providers. Beginning May 11, 2026 The Inspections Group will accept all new safety codes permit applications.
- Applications submitted to Park Enterprises before May 11, 2026 — whether complete or incomplete — will continue to be managed by Park Enterprises until the file is closed or July 17, 2026, whichever comes first.
- On July 17, 2026, any remaining applications, permits or inspections still being handled by Park Enterprises will be transferred to The Inspections Group.

Lethbridge County is an accredited municipality with Alberta Municipal Affairs, which means that the County has the authority to administer the Safety Codes Act for the building, plumbing (including septic), electrical, and gas disciplines. Lethbridge County is contracted with Park Enterprises (up to May 11, 2026) and The Inspections Group (beginning May 11, 2026) to provide all required Safety Codes inspection services in the County.
Safety codes permits must be obtained for most major construction projects, such as:
- New buildings
- Renovations, additions, and alterations
- Relocations
- Demolitions
- Changes in use to existing buildings
