Notice of Public Hearing: Bylaw 24-007 – updates and amendments to Land Use Bylaw

What is the Bylaw 24-007 About?

Bylaw 24-007 will consider the update and amendments to the Lethbridge County Land Use Bylaw.

The Intent of the updates and amendments to the Land Use Bylaw is to ensure that the Land Use Bylaw is current and meets the goals and objectives of the Lethbridge County Strategic Plan. The updates and amendments include:

  • Update and establish standards and procedures regarding the use, development and subdivision of land within the municipality;
  • Expand and update the Administrative section of the bylaw, to provide more detail and clear regulations pertaining to processing, application requirements, public notification, making decisions, enforcement, and applying conditions to development permit and subdivision applications;
  • Incorporate new or amended development standards for land uses within Lethbridge County;
  • Update and amend the Land Use Districts;
  • Amend the existing Land Use District maps to reflect land use re-designations and update Land Use Districts names; and
  • Comply with the provisions of the Municipal Government Act, RSA 2000, Chapter M-26, as amended.

How do I provide input?

Input can be given on the proposed Bylaw at the Public Hearing on April 4, 2024. Anyone wishing to provide written comments is encouraged to contact the County no later than 4:30 pm on March 27, 2024.
